NonRacing fan night
Hey, a pass along- I over heard someone down at the track mention the idea of a Pastors' race. Get Pastor's of churches to come down for a celebrity type race. Their church people would come down and they might just get hooked and need to show up each week! (yes a sad plea from a want-t-be) |

we have had great luck with programs like you are talking about with the Jackson school night when the teachers drove and Jackson Tire Center night when the employees from all the tire centers had to win a store level contest to get to drive our team pro 4 cars and everyone will agree that it was the most successful events that put people in the stands this year other than Monster Jam. the problem is you have inexperienced { teachers ] or over agressive [Tire Center guys ] tearing up your cars from smashing into each other to tearing up tires when they were told to stop and didnt. each one of these events cost our team over $200 in repairs and alot of extra work to get the dents repaired and tires replaced and a new radiator on what was damaged on all 4 cars. Dont take this wrong i think it is a great idea to have special events like you are talking about and we have proved that they work but we had our 2 events set up at the first of the year and was part of our Pro 4 team marketing agreement and we were unaware of the extra cost and work that would go along with them. i know for a fact you can get people to come down and drive race cars the question is who is willing to let inexperienced people in their cars? our thoughts are let the track build some cars and have them on hand and let whoever wants to drive one for special events or rent them out like we do each week i know thats probably not going to happen but if the track really wants special events then the track needs to be able to provide a avenue for that to happen. I can also guarantee you that my pastor is in on the deal if this event was ever to take place and i would also be more than happy to let him drive my # 26 WONDER BREAD car so there is one car.I am speaking for the team and as far as loaning out our whole fleet again--probably not going to happen unless its a team related program. also great idea on $5 church night --keep the ideas coming. Man I really like wonder bread! I agree with the cost factor, how about letting them come down on a thursday before the race and qualify the person to drive one. (renting one would also be an option, as people seem to take better care of something if money is on the line, and if they behave and don't intentionally tear something up; get some back) A few weeks back I got a chance to drive several laps in a pro street car and learned quite a bit. (Mostly I want one of my own!) I hope we can come up with something, I really think it would help the track $$$$$. |

I think the cost factor to the pro-4 owners to bring a car down Thurs. to let people practice and then back again Fri. to race would be a bit much. I agree that we could probably do something in the lines of this, but I think it should be noted what all the pro-4 class has done to promote the track already. As for my team, and the Baldwin team, we have taken the cars to numerous events IE displays, parades, picnics, business promos, etc. I took my car last weekend to a church picnic and rode kids all day long, was a big hit :) Made some racing fans there, guaranteed. Heck I've even taken them to birthday parties. Our class is doing all we can to promote our class and the Benton Race track. All we need now is a big money show sometime before the season is over to draw some cars from the other pro4 tracks. and along with the cars come fans. If you would my cars displayed at your business event give me a call or a message. We love this kind of stuff. |

I myself think it would be nice to have a powderpuff race. What dose everyone think? I know of some women that would be glad to do this.
