Combat Chi Sao!
Hello! We will get into some Combat Chi Sao. Chi Sao is One of the greatest things I have learned. It is so incredible to try and control your hands to move simultaneously. At first you feel like an idiot with your hands tangled with someone else. Thinking to yourself, what and I doing? But once you get the hang of it and theories it is something that amazes you. There are so many different ways to approach the same moves. The way your reflexes just move without you even knowing. Speed, timing, coordination, relaxation and skill are all something that we would like to achieve in this area. Chi Sao is the heart of wing chun. Sometimes I wonder, how can you apply chi Sao in real fighting? Some say you can’t and it’s only a training tool and others say it can be used in fighting. I believe it can. But in a street fight, it might be hard to apply it. Does anyone have any experience with applying it in a street fight and actually sticking to someone and feeling where they are going and trap them? Im not talking about a fight that you pak and hit and kick. I mean really trapping the hands. Hope to hear from you guys soon.

No I haven't. But I have sparred alot and experimented with actual chi-sao movements. They are VERY different from actual chi-sao in which the moves are not as compact which allows for more errors to occur. Since people are not machines they always react different to different movements. This is when you get into trouble because you "expect" your partner or opponent to react a certain way and they don't, and you mess up. The purpose of chi-sao is to train your arms and legs and body to sync with the moves and your mind, then repeat over, and over, and over again til it is second nature. It is a big mistake to engage in chi-sao battle or fighting all the time because you are not benefiting from the execises original intent. But... you may experiment with them moves to better understand them in a different context. This should only be done at a higher level because you must first understand the "why" before the "how" when doing it. I always see people trying to fight each other in chi-sao because they want to see who is "better" but those often times are the ones who dont understand what they are doing anyway. |

Use chi sao to understand fighting! Now ,do you still want to trap someone's hand?Even when he open up both arm ?I think you should know what to do. -- Fighting is fighting.Someone want to hurt you,you need to stop him frist. That is Ving Tsun teach us to study how to fight smark.Street fighter also is human,They can't fly.It doesn't metter what typ the fighting,Use the best way to fight is = Ving Tsun. |

once you have a few years on vt training, when you practice sparring, the techniques that you learn in chisao will pop up. I had alot of expirience sparring other styles, depending on the position, either one technique will take over, but a word of advice, try to become unlimited in your chisao, and remember, it is only a training tool. |
