Riccò confesses to EPO use

At least he finally had the balls to man up and admit it.
He also said "Of the 10 controls taken, only two were positive. In theory all the tests should have been positive, therefore the method needs to be checked"

I have more respect for guys like Ricco, David Millar, etc. than guys like Tyler Hamilton who constantly deny doping and make up ridiculous theories of why they tested positive.

Re: Riccò confesses to EPO use

You just wait until this UCI Kootenay Road Race goes off next year. Solid rumour has it that a blind eye is turned to doping here and we have our own version of WADA. Want Another Dorito Anyone?
I predict a return to glory for Team 7-11 with Bob Roll as Director Sportif.

Dave: as long as they don't test for marijuana, most of the BC locals should be fine.

Re: Riccò confesses to EPO use

I am also more impressed by someone who comes clean as opposed to somebody who can't admit their mistakes. However, I do question just how clean these confessions really are. Basso, said he was only thinking of blood doping. Of course the year he was sick in the Giro and came back to win 2 stages and make everyone look stupid, that was just natural talent. Most people who were caught only did it once.

Wasn't EPO blamed for a number of deaths 5-10 years ago. You can't just take it once and get instant results. You need to follow a protocol and monitor your blood levels to make sure you do not become a statistic. You can't just do it yourself and you probably need to do it several times to get any training effect into your body. Human Growth Hormone doesn't give you a kick after just one dose.

There is admissions of guilt and there is coming clean. The sport is getting cleaner. Admissions of guilt give you hope that it is getting cleaner. I admire David Miller. I do not admire this loud mouth arrogant little twerp. We will see what his Giro samples show and just how clean this guy is.
