Tour de Bowness Brief
There were a few Goats out on the road this weekend. We were represented by Craig, Stuart, Dustin and me. Congrats to Craig for taking 1st place in the CAT 4 Omnium. Not bad for his first kick at the cat in road racing! Congrats to Stuart for taking 6th place in the CAT 5 Omnium. I flogged my way to 8th in the hill climb and 13th in the road race in CAT 2. Special props to some Deadgoat friends that had a really good showing: Jon Nutbrown and Steve Walsh. |

When I wasn't in the office, I was watching the hurt out there at the races... the tour de bowness is a great spectator event. I wish I could have seen Craig on the hillclimb, but saw Jon who missed his start time of course, and a rare occurance of Devin getting "dropped" on a hill ; ) I'm impressed with the performances put out this weekend. With that many riders out there (190 total), top of category results are fantastic. If they had a family omnium category, the Bunnin's would collect a few more prizes too. |

Don't forget Lonn. I can't believe you had the jam to race a week after the 24 hour. |

Thanks for the kudos Devin. I really appreciate it. You had a pretty good weekend yourself up with the big boys. I would have to say it was a pretty fun weekend (who'd a thought road racing would be fun?). You Goats sure did well. It was fun racing with Stuart except for having to chase down his numerous flyers off the front (way to keep things interesting man). I might even try it again. Nice work Johnny N. You looked great out there. Stappy, nice result Dude! I don't feel so bad that you kick my butt so bad every Tuesday now. |

Gerry - It was not about the JAM - I came out for the cold Pil!!! Poached the cat 3 crit - just added my name to the bottom of the sign on sheet and threw Franzky at 20 for my race entry. Thought that the best therapy for me right now was to keep moving - Even if that means going lactic for the first 10 mins! Tried to work for Fausto - did not have the legs for that one though the Tubbydog still did well on Monday without my help. |
