(forgot to bring the clipping to the meeting last
night, and thought this would be more appropriate
than some vague rambling announcemen)
April 5-11, 2007 issue of CityBeat ran an ad on page
37 for a series of concerts, film showings and symposium
sponsered by the L.A. Philharmonic, USC,
Institute of Modern Russian Culture, Los Angeles,
and Ferris Collection of Sovietica titled
"Shadow of Stalin", taking place April 5 to June 3, 2007.
Details can be had at
http://LAPhil.com/ShadowOfStalin
323.850.2000
Of some interest in this series
to anyone who's seen the documentary
"Theremin: An Electronic Odyssey" will be a concert
by a 10-piece Theremin Orchestra on Sat. 26 May 2007. :-)
--
I recieved an announcement by e-mail the other day
of a similar single concert at UCLA I think it
was, for music banned by the Third Reich.
Unfortunately the time was the same as
the KHC meeting. (perhaps Bob Weber was at that? :-) )
Any way, a good transition to the below.

At the L.A. Public Library, Central Library,
as parts of the aLoud lecture series:
Steven Bach
Leni: The Life and Work of Leni Riefenstahl
Wed. 2 May 2007
Christopher Hitchens (a favorite Leftist Intellectual
of KHC founder Sam Konkin)
Mon. 4 June 2007

Several of these talks in recent months
have had at least peripheral
points of interest to libertarians, more than would
be appropriate to discuss in this post. |
