GET IT OUTTA YOUR HEAD AND ONTO PAPER Okay... I've been meaning to do this ever since the Writer's Forum went up. While I'd never consider myself a successful writer, I've written several hundred short-stories. Of those, many have won awards in various writing contests and a handful have actually been published. My hope is that I can take some of what I've learned, over the years, and provide helpful information for other writers. This is as much an invitation to participate as it is intended to be a source of information.
Here's my plan: Each week I'll provide a word, phrase, or theme and invite any who wish, to create something using those ideas. What you create will be posted here and we'll look at it and any questions you have regarding it. As well, I'd like to offer my ideas on how to overcome things like writer's block and combating those feeling some of us have that we just can't put our thoughts and feelings into words.
My personal observation has been that nearly anyone who wants to write, has something to say. Of those, many believe they don't know how. The technical side of writing is something that can be learned. Librarys are full of books on grammer and step-by-step guides on how to writer properly. What tends to be missing are tips on how to be creative. I hope I can help others address that issue here.
Bright Blessings,
William
