"Not our war," Marcus yelled, "not our fight."
"And because it was not your war," Two shook her head in disbelief, "you thought you and yours would not be killed. You believed evil would not seek you out, because you were peaceful? You knew what happened to us; to our world. Did you think you would be spared?"
"Better to kill than be killed?" He spat. "Is that what you're saying? Better to take life than to lose yours? I disagree."
"And that is why your kind are extinct." Helen interrupted the exchange.
"I have done such things, dragon." She closed her eyes, lowered her head and whispered, "Horrible things. Things the likes of which you cannot imagine. I have taken lives but I have saved many more. Death is not a path I seek. But if it is placed between me and those I love, then walk it I will."
