Golden in need of help!

Hello my name is Chuck Vinciulla. My family and I, are the proud owner's of "Bruin" our Golden born in November of 2006. We bought Bruin a few days before Xmas from a "breeder" called Bruce's Puppies. They can be found on line at www.brucespuppies.com

Since the purchase Bruin has been diagnosed with distemper and medial patella luxation of both hind legs. We went through a series of tests (including MRI and spinal tap) and an agonizing time with our 11yr old son witnessing several seizures until we were able to control his distemper. This with the regular costs of purchasing the dog and getting his shots and such has already cost our family in excess of $5000.00

Now Bruin is in need of surgery to repair both hind legs and we have an estimate of over $4500.00 to fix them both. I was wondering if anyone had any resources to grants or funding we may be qualified for. We did not rescue bruin from a shelter, but he is very important to us and we hope to have him healthy as soon as possible. We have exhausted our pet credit line and have not received any refund from the breeder to date and just do not have the financial means right now to go on with the surgery and therefore have postponed it until a later date.
Bruin cannot walk without assistance and we are just hoping to find some way to lessen the burden.

We currently live in Waltham Mass and are working with Woburn Vet referral hospital to get Bruin healthy.

Thank you in advance for pointing us in the right direction.

Chuck, Mechelle, Cody and Bruin Vinciulla.

Re: Golden in need of help! Beware

The person selling these sick dogs is only in it for the money and does not present papers, buys from anyone, sells to anyone, and is a cheat. His new site is www.brucespuppies.net

Beware, he is a minister and will try to sell to you under the premise that he is a man of god and honest.

He lives in Ohio and not CT at the site states. BEWARE ASK TO VISIT HIM AND HIS DOGS AT his home in CT. There is none.

Update on Bruin:

It is now September and we had the hind knee surgery done in May. My dog still cannot walk and has seisures about once a month and is on meds to control that. We are now into the dog for well over $10,000 as rehab cost a good chunk of money as does his medicine. I cannot say enough about the three places I have been going to for his surgery, rehab and regular vet stuff. One is Mass Vet Referral Hospital in Woburn, MA and they have been outstanding and did his surgery and rehab. Very caring and top notch there. My regular vet is Kindness animal hospital in waltham, Ma and they have been great as well. They will be neutering my "bruin" in another week. Yes more $$$, and lastly we will be starting auqadog in Waltham, MA which is swimming for rehab and fitness. I have started a second job just to pay for the dog and although he has regained his range of motion in both hind legs he still cannot walk on his own. Baby steps to recovery!!

Boycott Bruces Puppies as they are not as they say there are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
