Hi all; What is the event at Goldstock where the dogs all dress up? And is it too late to enter? Deb

Re: Goldstock dog dressup?

That would be the..........uhmmmmmmmmm........we used to do something like that, it was called...........

Should we run a doggy dress up contest Friday night in between the geriatrics and pals trying to sing karaoke? Please, write in and let me know if you guys want to do this. If I get enough response, I'll run it.

It's good to be queen (of a very small country)

Re: Goldstock dog dressup?

we hsve only been to Goldstock twice, but I was sure that I saw dogs dressed up for something. I think that sometimes when you are new to something(in our case Goldstock) you just sit back and observe and don't ask enough questions about what is going on around you! So, yes I vote for something like this for Friday evening. I hope that this year we get there on time for the karaoke, last year we got really lost! My husband didn't believe the goldstock directions, thought he remembered the way from the previous year!:( Men!!!! Debbie

Re: Goldstock dog dressup?

Are you thinking of the Sassy Walk? Anyway, my Kia will only wear the Goldstock scarf so we'll enjoy the fun of watching others strut their stuff.

Re: Goldstock dog dressup?

I'm excited about the Sassy Walk. When and how do we need to register our dogs? Does it need to be done in advance of Goldstock or at the event?

Thanks

Re: Goldstock dog dressup?

If memory serves me, the Sassy Walk is part of the Doggie Olympics. I think you are able to sign up in the cafeteria at Goldstock to participate. I don't think you need to do anything ahead of time...except plan your outfit and practice walking "sassily"!

Re: Re: Goldstock dog dressup?

Paige is right. The Sassy Walk is part of the Olympices on Sunday morning. Sign up is only during breakfast on Sunday. Sue Trotto and I very gracioulsy agree not to sit and eat (believe me, I can afford to miss more than 1 meal!) so that we can sign up everybody who wants to participate.

The Sassy Walk started as just a sassy walking dog, one who could strut her/his stuff but it has changed thru the years. A lot of contestants dress their dogs up. Dogs come up to Judge Haggerty covered in "style points". But there are sometimes, like last year when Andi won.......no costume, he did have some style ponts in his collar.......not a dry eye in the house. That was one sassy walk. We love you Andy.

Re: Goldstock dog dressup?

Since it looks like people are interested, we can do a costume contest Friday night in the rec center. I'll scounge up some sort of prize so you have a chance of winning something for all your efforts.

Of course, just speding time with your dog is a reward in itself:)

Hello Lois and all: The Friday night dressup sounds like fun to me! Now we just have to get there on time! Last year we got lost for a few hours and didn't get there until dark! This is our 3rd try so, hopefully we will make better time this year! See you all soon. Deb

Re: Goldstock dog dressup?

This is our first year and everyone sounds so great!!! It is all about the dogs!!! and spending every minute I can with her. Since I will be driving alone my friend and I went on Rand Mcnally to get my directinally challenged self directions I hope they are o.k. since I will be alone. Well not alone but with my best bud, Clowey. So if anyone sees a beige Toyota with Grateful Dead stickers and Golden Retriever everything all over the car on the side of the road please help. Hey I guess that what life is all about- challenges. Peace Love and Goldens

Re: Goldstock dog dressup?

I used Magellin last year and "she" took me right to the camp! Ms. Magellin couldn't do much when I locked Kia and myself out of the car somewhere in upstate PA on I81. Fortunately, the locksmith was great and just charged me a total of $35. and no I don't have AAA.

Re: Goldstock dog dressup?

Hi Denise and Connor, I am leaving from Lake Hopatcong,NJ. I have all my directions from the internet through Rand Mcnally. My close friend lives in Stroudsburg so I was able to get directions to the bed and breakfast from Rt. 80 west Which seems pretty direct, sort of. But because I am driving alone with the Clowster I get worried. My friend and I took a test run a few weekends ago and found the Tyler Hill Country farm were Clowey and I are staying. So I also printed out directions to Lakewood PA I am leaving on Fri.,Aug.31 so if you want to meet somewhere on 80west and we can follow each other that would be great. I am not chickening out, Nope So let me know. Life is an adventure!!! Trudi and my golden,Clowey
