The best tools, materials, and links for information are your own senses. Cryptozoology, in my opinion, begins with the last 5 letters; the word "ology", which everyone knows means "the study of", this requires critical thinking and analyzing the information that you gather using your own senses. So try this, I'll give you this scenerio: Lets say I lost my keys (1) you know what you are looking for. I last saw them in my living room (2)You know where they might be. I should start there (3) you have a location.
Start in your own back yard, it might be a follow-up to a "ghost" story or the actual "sighting". talk to friends or relatives about any thing "strange" or "unusual" that might have happened to them or someone else in the past.
