Javascript menus

I made a menu with the DHTML at bravenet. Does this menu work only for those who have javascript installed in their computer?

Re: Javascript menus

You may be confusing Java with Javascript. Java does need installation, but Javascript is interpreted by a visitors browser. It is possible, and sometimes recommended, for the visitor to disable Javascript on their browser, but most people leave it enabled. I use a Javascript menu on my site and have never had a complaint about using it and I find it too useful to ever disable it. Your menu should work on almost everyones computer.

Note that search engines do not read Javascript and will not be able to index the pages that are linked this way. It is always a good idea to provide a hard link to a site map. The site map would contain simple links that a search engine could easily follow. See the example on my web site.

Re: Javascript menus

Thanks that was it. BUT it doesn't work! I think that it is because I've used tables.
I need help here! I have seperated my page to three tables and i can't find the HTML editor for each page, so I can enter the code, so no menu! can someone help me please?!

Re: Re: Javascript menus

Dividing a page into tables does not increase the number of pages. You just have one page with three tables.

Re: Javascript menus

Nancy,

Using tables should not have any effect on whether a Javascript menu work or not. I use tables and Javascript menus on my site with no problem at all. And as Peter says, dividing a page with tables doesn't increase the number of pages. Just speculating, because I'm not really understanding your problem, but it almost sounds like you are expecting the editor to know that you divided up the page and give you separate content editors.

The best thing you can do is give us a URL so that we can see your problem for ourselves. I have worked with Bravenet's DHTML menus before and they are not too difficult to get working. Any other information you can give us would also be helpful.
