I would like to make drop down menus from the page headings that the blue wizard gives me. Is there any way to do this while still using the wizard formatting? I'm willing to go outside the wizard to set it up but not ready to cut the cord all together.
Also some tips on how to use that java appelet to upload files would be great. I want to upload a photo gallery I created in Adobe photoshop with the automate tool... can't seem to figue it out...
I select files, click the little green arrow, and it acts like it's doing something but never does... also when I find the files and select them half say they have 0 KB of data. What am I missing?
To your first question, the short answer is no. The Website Wizard is not designed to let you replace the page navigation links from within, or without, the Wizard. It's intended as a quick and easy method of generating web pages, without knowing much about web design and HTML. If you do start editing outside the Wizard, then you will have to "cut the cord", as you say. If you don't have too much time invested in your site yet, an option might be to pick one of the templates from the Template Gallery, and design your site around that. It's a bit more work than using the Wizard, but it also removes all of the restrictions that the Wizard imposes. To get an idea of the work involved in using a template, you might want to try my help page on Working With Bravenet Templates.
The Java Applet can give you problems. I have trouble when I'm working through a proxy. I found it slow to start up and inconsistent in it's operation. A much simpler way of moving your files to/from your web site is to use Internet Explorer, in the FTP mode. On the help pages linked above, take a look a the one on "IE FTP Access". It shows you how to configure IE for use as an FTP tool. After that, it's a simple click and drag to move files to/from your web site. I use it on all my web sites. I use the "Add Network" link, under "My Network Places" to create shortcuts to each site. Once the links are set up, it only takes one click to open your web site.
