I think that to get married, one needs to understand that we are living in a transtional time when the traditional views are challenging the modern way of looking at marriage. Those living the transition are the ones who suffer because their marriage may fail because of a mixture of both views .

as far as i m looking and viewin the marriage i see it as a union between the people, yes we cannot run away from the fact that the cost of living is too high these days. but i would say that if there is anything that you would like the marriage to offer you then go for that thing what ever it might be. but with out love and trust i don'know and not sure about the future of that marriage.

Well, thank you Lunga for your thoughts about marriage. I seem to agree with Phumzile on what I would term the foundation of a good marriage,i.e. Love, Trust and Respect. I think a good marriage is based on these three, irrespective of the conditions or reason which you have mentioned Lunga. Yes, we might not ignore them but they are not to be viewed as important. Both people need to understand the implications of their comming together, which in our African cultures and traditions go beyond the two, you know what I mean.
