Liquidating a bad purchase

We recently found ourselves buying a new truck and now realize it was a bad decision financially for us. We are now upside down and it literally has just 988 miles on it. Is there any way to eliminate this debt besides voluntary repossession or bankruptcy? Our credit is good at this point. Afraid we cannot sell it and get a clear title for a new owner. We need options!

Re: Liquidating a bad purchase

I wish I could wave a magic Wand and make your problems go away, sorry there is no answer unless you want to blemish your credit.

Buying a brand new car your about 25% negative with little or no money down the moment you take delivery and it stays that way for the first year, selling now or a year from now with average or low miles the value will most likely be the same, the only factor will be you will have made 12 payments to lower the negative and there will be a slim chance you may be able to work something out at that time.

Find the same type vehicle you have now being one model year older , link to Autotrader, whatever value you find will most likely be your car's value a year from now, calculate what your pay out will be a year from now, there will still be a negative factor, you may be able to work out at that time.
