Yesterday I went to look at the Volvo that I sent you a link to & here's what I found.

There were no Dealer Invoice stickers or MSRP on any of the Cars (It was a Volvo Dealership)

The rear doors felt different than the front. Both front doors felt solid, where both the rear doors had a good amount of give in them (almost as if there was no support beam inside the doors). I performed the accident checklist that is on your site and didn't see any evidence of damage. The carfax report had no description of any accident either.

The salesman told me that this is an AWD, and wasn't stated as such on the listing. He said AWD usually run anywhere from 00.-00. more.

When I test drove it, it had a whirring sound from the tires and a shimmy. The Brakes also need work.

I stated that I want to take the car to my mechanic and he didn't have a problem with it. I was going to take it tomorrow, but the Salesman said that he wanted to have the brakes repaired before I took it, So I am planning to take it later in the week.

The engine felt tight and the gears were properly engaging.

He asked me that if he agreed to resolve the issues,if I would want to leave a deposit today. when I told him that I wanted to have my mechanic check it over first, he did not pressure me to buy, at all. He said that he completely understood.

It comes with a 30 or 60 day warranty (the salesman said he wasn't sure-30 or 60 days), so I assume that it is not sold AS IS.

Any feedback or suggestions you can give me would be greatly appreciated.

It shows a little study on your part have accomplished some issues,,, The test drive having learned some steps along with had you not mentioned the brakes the dealer would most likely not have fixed, but now realize they are dealing with a Squirrel, LOL, a lingo dealerships use when they run into obstacles dealing with a smartass they can't control.

I find it strange the salesman did not know if it's a 30 or 60 day warranty, also if it's a P/T warranty then it's useless,,, ask for a copy and read all the fine print, I guarantee it will not be a full warranty,,, then again I been wrong before...

As for leaving a deposit " NO " if the car is sold in the meantime, so be it,,, Re-read " take to mechanic " the last entry on that web page about dealer want deposit prior to an independent inspection

Thank you Ray. If not for your site, I wouldnt have thought to check all those pointers that you give.
Still concerned about the door issue, but I'll have my mechanic check it out on Friday to see if the car may have been in an accident.
