Odometer Rollback

Hey Ray,

I have a unique question. A lot of cars I find sometimes have an odometer rollback when looking at AutoCheck.com, everything else is fine except for that. It might have a lien at some point in its history but for the most part no other flags are raised in the report. I was wondering could you use this as leverage over the car price. Can you ask the price to be reduced and play the "I'm the one taking the risk not you" game with the seller even though for the most part the car is probably in a good condition? I mean I'm looking at trying to cut the price by 1G or 2G, is that realistic or do you think the dealer will shut the door and laugh if you make an offer like that?

Thanks for your advice.

Re: Odometer Rollback

To offer 2G's less than asking price is not being rude, it's the salesperson's duty to present the offer and come back with a counter.

Yes the salesperson may laugh at your offer trying to be a a closer range to what they really want, stay firm and if salesperson let's you walk, then you know you have to up the ante.

If you read the negotiation process in this website you will know the steps
