Mike, The main difference between the Beck and Vintage is the chassis. Beck uses as near a copy of the original chassis as is possible, using VW running gear. Vintage use a semi spaceframe type chassis and so is more geared to tuning the suspension and for different engine options. The big disadvantage with Vintage is the waiting time for completion. Currently running at about 12 months. Both are fine cars and have a good following. Both will only be supplied in finished or near finished condition, so you would not save anything over buying from Europe. Give Martin and Walker another chance and phone them if you want to build yourself. If not there is a very nice Beck for sale in Scotland. Check my for sale page. Terry
