Re: Looking for input on spring DIY get together

Hey group. First order of business is to thank Charles for his efforts in taking over the work of the NCDIY and setting up the cyber space communications! Thank you sir!

As to a spring event, I am certainly game. Trying to decide on a project or activity that can be proposed to motivate and inspire the group and generate some excitement. A couple of possiblilities are:

1) A preset max dollar value based speaker building constest. Say $50, $75, $100 or what ever per channel;

2) A speaker design compitition using a couple of the better quality low cost drivers with all else up to the individual participants;

3) A Crossover simplicity based design competition, IE, 2, 3, 4 or 5 crossover components. As with 2 above, all else is up to the designer.

Or any other ideas that are offered. On the electronics design side of things, similar contests appropriate for amps and such. Not active any more in that area so I can not be specific. Would love to hear some ideas. If they are interesting it may be fun for some of us speaker types to try our hand, so to speak.

Well enough for now. Hope to see some replies.

John
