I have our two youngsters on omolene 300.Should I put them on beet pulp for extra calories?Or what would work? Our filly is small due to bottle feeding and her lack of a good start.I would like something to really increase her weight until summer. I appreciate all your good advice, thanks veronica

Re: Omelene 300

Hi Veronica,

You have to feed too much Omelene 300 to get all of its stated benefits and I am concerned about feeding a large amount due to its high grain content. So, I would suggest that you feed no more than 3 pounds of Omelene 300 each day and supplement it with a stabilized rice bran product, such as Natural Glo. This will help her gain weight. And, since it is high in phosphorus, you will want to balance out her ration by giving her alfalfa – pellets, cubes, or hay.

Keep me posted on how she’s doing!

All the best,
