Dear Dr. Getty,
I have a friend that has a 10 month old horse and she was wondering at what age would it be to have him gelded? Please Help

Hi Debbie,

It is best to consult with your veterinarian for any underlying conditions. But, in general, younger colts recover faster from castration than older ones. So, in my experience, 10 months is a good age to have him gelded.
