Cocosoya Oil

First of all, terrific forum Dr. Getty!

My question is this:

Is this (Cocosoya Oil) a good substitute for Rice Bran Oil?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Cocosoya Oil

Hi Joan,

Thank you for your kind words!

I do not recommend coconut oil or soybean oil – and "Cocosoya oil" is a combination of the two. Coconut oil is highly saturated, which is not beneficial to overall health. And soybean oil is high in omega 6 fatty acids, which increase the inflammatory response.

Rice bran oil is high in monounsaturates, which do not promote inflammation. Additionally, rice bran oil contains gamma oryzanol, a potent antioxidant, which boosts the immune function, as well as assist in appetite, weight gain (as muscle), and the prevention of ulcers.

Hope this helps!

Re: Cocosoya Oil

Hi Joe,

The inflammatory response refers to the amount of inflammation that the body experiences. If, for example, you sprain your ankle, it starts to swell, gets red, and is painful. This is an inflammatory response.

Thanks for asking!
