hay with a lot of red clover

What will feeding a horse hay with a lot of red clover in it do to the horse? Thanks you for all of your help. Janell

Where are you from? Ohio

Re: hay with a lot of red clover

Hi Janell,

Red clover easy to establish and is generally mixed in with grass pasture, typically fescue or orchardgrass. It is fine to feed and is more tolerant of poor drainage or soils with a lower pH. As with any legume, it should be fed along with grass pasture or grass hay.

Hope this is helpful.

Good things,
