What is the difference between lamina saver and laminex, and can you feed either of them continuous?

Where are you from? connecticut

Re: laminex

Hi Sharon,

I recommend Laminex because the ingredients are excellent in treating and preventing laminitis, as well as treating navicular syndrome.

Lamina Saver, made by Figuerla Labs, may be a fine product -- but I don't know. They do not publish their ingredients and when I contacted them, I was told that their ingredients were proprietary. So, I cannot justify recommending a product when I don't know what it is I'm recommending!

Laminex, made by MVP, provides a comprehensive array of vitamins and minerals in therapeutic dosages, along with other supporting substances such as hyaluronic acid, enzymes, amino acids, and bioflavonoids. Here is the website to more information:

Please let me know if you have any more questions.

Re: laminex

The directions say 2 ounces twice daily, would that dose be lowered with time?

Where are you from? connecticut

Re: laminex

Hi Sharon,

Yes, you could likely reduce the dose depending on the situation. I would suggest that a horse go symptom-free for at least 4 months before reducing the dosage.

Re: laminex

How does Laminex compare to the product: Recovery EQ? Can Laminex be fed on a maintenance basis without fear of side effects from the herbs?

Where are you from? Texas, but currently live in Colorado.

Re: laminex

Hello Lynne,

Recovery EQ is not as complete a product as Laminex and is considerably more expensive.
Here's what it contains:
Nutricol 1000 mg (proprietary blend)
DMG 1000 mg
Glucosamine Hydrochloride 10,000 mg
MSM 10,000 mg
Vitamin C 1400 mg
Vitamin E 750 IU
Magnesium 525 mg

Laminex contains, in addition to these ingredients, a full complement of fat soluble vitamins, B vitamins, amino acids, antioxidants, minerals, and live microbials.

It also contains two herbal pain relievers, devils claw and yucca. Herbal pain relievers are very dilute and a full dose is only recommended until the symptoms are relieved. After that, a half dose can safely be used for maintenance.

All the best,
