too much?

Hi!! I just had a question. I own a fit energetic TB. He currently is on Purina ultium. I just started him on Glanzen for his feet. Ive been looking into the Ration plus, because he is on the thin side. Would the Glanzen work for his weight, or would I need the Ration plus. Would all this be to much for him?

Where are you from? PA

Re: too much?

Hi Kevan,

Thank for writing! Glanzen will certain add calories, since it is flaxseed meal based. But, Ration Plus helps him obtain calories from his hay and other forages (like those found in the Ultium) at a more efficient rate. You can feed the best diet in the world but if the bacterial flora in the hind gut are not at their peak health, your horse won't get all the benefit of that diet. So, I would suggest using both together.

Give him a double dose of Ration Plus (two teaspoons each day) until you see results. Then you can go down to a maintenance dose of 1 teaspoon per day. Be sure to shake the bottle well.

He sounds beautiful -- please keep me posted on his progress.

All the best,
