My new girl

Hi Dr. Getty
I just bought a new horse today and she is in excellent shape and appears to be in great health, so I just wanted to double check with you on this recipe I think will be great for her:
Beet pulp
flax
canola oil
hay/pasture

She is a 20 yr old TB and it looks as though her teeth are good so I think this would be a good recipe for her, she will be showed this summer in fun day shows, so nothing stressful or hard but I really want to be able to keep the weight on her.

My other TB is slowly putting weight on also as he does in the summer so that is good.

Here is a pic of my new beauty

Thanks for any advice you might have

Re: My new girl

Hi Jenni,

Congratulations!! She is a beauty!!!

Your recipe is very good! The only thing I would add is a multiple vitamin/mineral supplement to fill in any gaps. Since you're in Canada, there should be a Vita-Flex dealer available. Take a look at Accel.

Keep up the good work! Be sure to offer fresh, clean water at all times and a plain salt lick or free choice plain, coarse salt.

Enjoy!
