de-wormers

Dr. Getty, do you know if Quest (moxidectin) is as good as the PowerPak. I would like to give the Quest since it is one dose and PowerPak requires five days of doseing. Are they comparable?

Have a thankfull Thanksgiving!

Re: de-wormers

Hi Kasey,

I prefer to use the Panacur PowerPac because moxidectin is only effective against the late stage encysted cyathostome larvae. Fenbendazole (in the PanacurPac at twice the normal dosage, for 5 days) is effective against these, but also kills the early stage larvae, which make up more of the total encysted population.

Thanks for asking!
