Probiotic

Sorry, I forgot to ask if I should add a Probiotic to there diet? Which one would you reccommend?

Hi Sue,

I would suggest that instead of a probiotic, you add a prebiotic such as Ration Plus. I always like to use this when horses have a change in feed or environment, to keep the bacterial flora in the hind gut healthy. Ration Plus does not contain live microbes, like a probiotic. Instead, it feeds the existing microbes making them healthy and better able to manage changes in feed and improve digestion.

Probiotics are best used when a horse is undergoing antiobiotic therapy or has diarrhea.
