Mill Mix

Just a quick simple question, what benifit does Mill Mix have to your horse and how much should you give them?

Hello Jewels,

When you mention "Mill Mix," are you referring to a mixture of cereal grains (oats, corn, barley, etc.)?

I don't recommend this type of feed for horses unless they are involved in intensive physical activity and require the additional immediate energy boost from simple carbohydrates.

This certainly is something to be avoided for the older horse, the growing horse, and horses that are overweight, or suffering from disorders such as Insulin Resistance (metabolic syndrome) and Cushing's Syndrome.
