could mamma be prego?

I brought home a 3-4 year old pony and her baby which was 1-2weeks old in late September last year. They were out in a feild with 8-10 other ponies at the time 2 of them were studs. I've heard that she can get pregnant week to week and a half after giving birth is this true? If so WHAT DO I DO NOW? oh and how can I tell are there any ways to tell besides the vet ?

Re: could mamma be prego?

Hi Chelle,

Yes -- absolutely she can become pregnant shortly after foaling. You'll need to have your vet out to do a blood test to confirm, unless you just want to wait 11 months and see what happens!
