Re: Can I free feed Alphalpha?

Hi Christy,

I answered a similar posting from you a bit ago -- so I won't repeat my response here. But, you did add the information that your horses are on some pasture. Of course, this time of year, there really isn't any "pasture" in Colorado -- just dried grass that died with the first frost. And, if you received the snow I did yesterday, your horses can't even find the pasture!

So, I still recommend using alfalfa only as part of the hay ration, not as the main hay. And, be sure to feed Glanzen Complete to fill in gaps. You'll need to feed a small meal for the supplement -- some beet pulp or even a small amount of a commercial feed.

All the best,

Dr. Getty
