Hi Pam

Metamucil is also psyllium but check the label... if it contains sugar, then I would not recommend it for your horses. And, it likely does contain some sweetening agent to make it taste better. Even an artificial sweetener may not be appropriate.

Also, check the number of grams of psyllium in each serving and compare it to Sand Relief. That way you can tell if the products are similar.
