Hi JB,

The only time I recommend stabilized Rice Bran is when a horse needs the additional calories for work or for the hard keeper. It is especially nice for supplying additonal calories for the horse that needs to lower his starch intake.

However, the fat in rice bran does not contain any omega 3 fatty acids, which is why I recommend Nutra Flax.

So, evaluate your horse's caloric needs. If he is working on a daily basis, he can benefit from the additional fat calories that rice bran provides. So, in that case, I would simply reduce the amount of rice bran and substitute an equal amount of Nutra Flax (not to exceed 1 1/2 cups by volume).
