I was wondering if i am giving to many supplements or not enough...I give him vitamin-e and selenium,lixotinic, neigh-lox, hy-flex, and electrolytes....I feed him Omolene 200...can u please let me know if my diet for my horse is toO much nutrients are not enough!! are wut would u recommend giving him!!!

Hi Olivia,

I would definitely discontinue the Omelene since this is a sweet feed that is very high in starch. Starch causes more acid production and as I just wrote in your other post, he likely has an ulcer.

Please consider setting up a personal phone visit so I can go over his need for some of the supplements you've listed. He may not need selenium, and electrolytes are not important -- salt is -- so a plain white salt block is essential.

Consider dropping these supplements and go with Glanzen Complete, AmiQuell, and Ration Plus. And, let me know if can assist you further. That way I can go over his entire situation -- history, medical treatments, environment, exercise, diet, etc. to customize a feeding plan that will help him heal and get him back on track toward a healthy life.
