Hi Rochelle,

Take a look at the Super label -- if it is mostly sugar then it could have an influence on behavior.

There seems to be several things going on -- the possibility of an ulcer, difficulty maintaining weight, and you mentioned a "belly" in your first post which indicates poor forage digestion. Horses do not get fat on the underside -- distention indicates gas.

I believe the best way I can help you would be to go over the big picture and evaluate him in detail. Please consider a phone visit -- that way I can examine his history, exercise, diet, medical interventions, environment, etc. to customize a plan to help him gain muscle, improve his overall condition, and make him into the horse you'd like him to be.
