8 year old paint mare

Dr Getty,
Hi, one more question, My eight year old paint mare, is on alfalfa pellets and one scoop of Glanzen 3, but plan on switching her to Glanzen light when the Glanzen 3 is all. She does very good for most part, but gets extremely spooky and nervous at times, and Im not sure why? Is there anything I could do to calm her nerves?
Thanks,
Margie.
By the way my ponies are doing great on Glanzen 3 and alfalfa pellets, Im planning on switching them to the Glanzen light, which I have already ordered. The vet was out and said these ponies look great, don't change anything. Lukey has won in his last show and is going to states at the farm show in October.

Re: 8 year old paint mare

Hi Margie,

Most horses do not get enough magnesium and this mineral is directly involved in maintaining a healthy nervous system. So my first suggestion is to give her Quiessence -- For behavioral issues, I recommend 1 scoop per 500 lbs of body weight. Try this for 3 weeks and if you notice a difference, you've pinpointed the problem. If there is no difference, we'll move to plan B.

Keep me posted,
