Re: My horse likes to dip his hay in his water

Greetings 10 Walker,

A lot of horses enjoy dunking their hay in water before eating -- this is perfectly fine. In fact, it can ease chewing, reducing the chance of choke. Some horses like to have their hay showered with some water before eating -- so your fellow's habit is his way of making his hay softer and more palatable.

My 6yr. old gelding has an auto waterer next to his hay bin. He loves to put hay in his waterer and drink and slosh it around while he eats. He looks to be having a grand old time. He is extremely playful. Is this anything to be concerned about?
He's on your recommendation of Glanzen Lite complete, plain salt and quiessence and looks and acts wonderfully.
