Re: B Plex?

Hi David,

Diarrhea is generally an indication of poor digestion, inflammation within the gastrointestinal tract, and a compromised hindgut microbial population. I would suggest something different instead of the Focus Senior -- a supplement that will fill in all of the nutritional gaps that contains BPlex, plus other vitamins as well as minerals -- Glanzen Complete. This is BPlex (made by Horsetech) along with flaxseed meal (to reduce inflammation in his gastrointestinal tract), minerals in their proper proportion, and vitamins that are missing in hay.

I would also like to see him have a good pro/pre-biotic such as Synbiotic EQ. This will help maintain the health of the microbial population in the hindgut -- an essential factor in preventing diarrhea.

All the best,

Hi Dr. Getty,
i have a 27yo chilean gelding. he's doing well and looks good. here's his diet: free choice grass mixes..
only supplements given is Source: Focus Senior. put over a small scoop of watered down grass pellet so powder will stick. He's been passing brown liquid after/while passing gas. friend told me he may need more B than the Focus Senior has in it.. the brown liquid was occasional when it started and now a few years has gone by and it's more frequent.. Would B plex be a good thing to add or replace instead of Focus Senior.. other than that, his mood,coat,etc.. are very good especially for his age.. thank you for any help.

David
