Re: ideal horse weight

Hello Nancy,

Rather than weight, we use Body Condition Scoring for horses. This system was developed by Dr. Don Henneke in 1984 and is still considered the standard by which we evaluate a horse's weight and body fat distribution.

You can review it, in depth, in my book, Feed Your Horse Like A Horse, starting on page 170. Or you can google it and you'll find many links to information on the subject.
