Bermuda and Teff Hay

Hi Dr. Getty,

I have an IR gelding that is on orchard grass with vitamins and minerals to balance his tested hay. Is bermuda and teff hay too fined stemmed? I have heard it can cause impaction problems. I have also heard that the seeds in teff hay can cause mouth ulcers. I am doing some reasearch on both hays for next years hay.

Thanks for your help,
Lynn
