There was an interesting article in today's Kansas City Star newspaper....just because you've filed your taxes, putting your taxes out of your mind for another tax year, you might want to consider some things:

1) Use a computer to keep track of expenses.

2) Forgo the refund. Your tax refund is money you lent to the IRS for free. Revise your withholding to a minimum by jotting down the number on line 63---your tax liability before withholding---of tihs year's return. Add a few hundred dollars to be safe and take it to your payroll department.

3) Get help EARLY next year. If you intend to hire a tax professional to do next years tax returns, don't leave it until the last minute. Start a relationship EARLY in the year!
