The Police Officers of Victoria Association has been in touch with Habitat for Humanity in Victoria and the organization is in need of volunteers to assist in building homes July through October of this year.

Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit housing ministry that builds quality, low cost homes in partnership with low-income families and the Victoria Community. The organization depends on volunteers to build the homes which are funded by donations from foundations, corporations, local businesses and individuals.

We have been given the opportunity to be a part of this organizations mission which in turn helps us to achieve our mission in getting involved in our community and promoting a positive image.

EVERYONE is encouraged to join this effort. We need you, your family and even your friends...anyone who wants to give back to their community should take advantage of this opportunity!

The P.O.V. has set up two Saturdays a month to assist with the building. Work begins at 7:45am and ends at 12:00pm. Only 3 hours and 15 minutes per Saturday! Habitat will also provide volunteers with drinks (water & gatorade) and lunch at noon when work is done. The following are the dates we will be participating:

July 12th & 26th
August 16th & 23rd
September 13th & 27th
October 11th & 25th

Of course this opportunity is open to anyone, not just POV members.

If you wish to join us on any of the days above please send me an email with your name, contact number and dates that you wish to go.

But if you need to cancel please let me know. We need to keep them updated with how many volunteers are expected.

I will respond by sending you some additional information and a waiver for you to read and sign and bring with you on the day you come. This need only be done once.
