So boys & girls.... how about a big blether & beer in Leeds 7/8th Sep 2018?
Loads of hotels and guest houses - stay where you want....
We could just get together and natter in any one of a dozen pubs (or all at different times!)
We could set up a "buffet" meal somewhere for a slightly more formal get together...
I could set up a Facebook group so we can keep track of each other (if required)....
It is also the Leeds International Beer Festival that weekend......
What do we think, please add your comments and ideas below....
Bring the girls - as long as they don't mind just pulling up a sandbag and swinging the old lamp for a few hours :grinning: :beers: :wine_glass:
Take a look at ‘Beer call Harrogate’ for my comments. I have tried to explain the issues and reasons for change of venue.
Please don’t send any ‘flak’ Den’s way. Send it my way if you want to get something off your chest.ππ. It will be like water off a Duck’s back! Quack Quack. ππ
See you all in September - in LEEDS! Book your accomodation early as it is the International Beer Festival on the same weekend.
In the meantime, wishing all Phantomeers good health, wealth and happinessπ
Details will be sent to Den in the next couple of weeks of the venue for ‘meet and greet’ for early arrivals on the Friday evening. Details of venue for ‘main event’ on Saturday will also be published.
Count me in. Always up for a beer call! Shall wend my way from Gütersloh to Leeds and hope to meet some old and hopefully new faces. Hoping to bring my old bombhead mate along too. Ex 228ocu,41,2 squadron so should know a few a people. Really looking forward to this!
Having looked through the emails I've received over the last few months, I have a few names of people who have expressed an interest in meeting up at Leeds:
Rog Canfield, Den Rayner, John Rowe, Gary Mannion, Dan Hollins, Chris Williams, John Prendergast, Kev Kitchen, Sam Pamma
Spike Leek, Tony Nash, Chris Lyon, Rob Yorkshades, David Whiteside, Dean Reynolds, Bren Murphy, Colin Kane, Al Potter,
Colin Piesse, Danny O’Connell.....
More possibles are:
Paul Wright, Sean Turner, Colin Sighe, David Manley, Calum McLucas, Phil Collins, Andy Bell, Jeremy Billett....
I'm fairly sure there are more, I just can't find them!
For all of us who intend to travel by train into Leeds on the 8th, Northern trains have called a strike that date so trains will be few and far between during daytime and non-existent after 7pm.
Thanks for this info Danny. I’ve been debating weather I should take my car or go by train up to Leeds. Decision made! ππ
So, as the Mrs is remaining at home on this occasion, there are three ‘free’ seats available from the West Midlands area going up to Leeds on Friday am 7th Sep and returning Back home Sunday 9th Sep. Anyone interested - give me a shout π
