combining finances/loans/spending styles
I am getting married in Dec 09. My fiance has almost 70,000 in student loans. Should we pay it off together, or should he pay it off by himself?
Also, we have the same savings goals, but we go about it somewhat differently. For example, when I feel money is tight, I refrain from buying anything unnecessary, even a cup of coffee. He, however, feels that he can't afford anything else, and so should be able to treat himself to a cup of coffee. How should we approach these differences? I'm scared that all of this debt and differences in spending styles will make us both miserable.
