Re: HELP - FLASH FOR INTRO PAGE

Hello.

I understand why you would want a intro.

The first thing you need to know is:

When people visit your site if the intro takes long loading people will leave before the intro starts.

Make the intro small but helpful

Once you have your intro

Rename the intro HTML file to

index.html

what this does is make the intro your man page

index.html is the HTML file name for your front page

when you type in

www.yoursite.com or what ever your site is call, you real type
www.yoursite.com/index.html but the browser puts the index.html in for you

Try it.

type in your site name

www.yoursite.com/index.html

your front page appears.

Now what you need to do is.

go into the file manager tab on the main section of your bravehost account
( Not the web wizard )
and change the file that says

Index.html, change it to

Front.html

now your front page is now changed to

www.yoursite.com/front.html

on your intro

change the

after played URL

to www.yoursite.com/front.html

after played: is the website your intro will go after it has played ( Normal found in the .text file )

Now upload your intro ( index.html ) to your website

now when the address is typed it will bring up

www.yoursite.com/index.html ( intro )
and after it will go to

www.yoursite.com/front.html ( You actual main page )

please note that i do not use bravehost and now i use state of the art website html tools like dreamweaver and photoshop.

Hope i was helpful there for you mate.
