There are several things you could mean by scrolling text. If you used a script that didn't work, you probably did something wrong. Without more information, I'm not sure you will get an answer.

you would have to use a maque tag. not sure what script you used. here is an example of scrolling text that goes up.

it is of the song the rose the height and with yo would have to change and the behavior up down left right. need more info to help you but this is a start.

Marquee is not an official html tag, it is an add on invented by Microsoft and you cannot guarantee that it will work in any particular browser.

By "scrolling" the OP may mean that he wants the text to move or he may mean that he wants a scrollable DIV or text box or he may just be using a template that gives a fixed page length which is too short for his requirements. Without more information it is difficult to give a useful answer.
