I don't see a change on the website in the numbers on the counter, but at bravenet it shows that I have 48 more this week. Why does it not show up on the site?

Count is at 5770 so as people visit it will count accordingly as it should

You don't need a counter on your site. You are better off enabling the statistics which shows everyone who has visited your site, where they came from, which pages they looked at, etc. It's like Google Analytics, but much better.

My web designer has decided to quit updating my web. I am current creating my own website to publish. My current one has the counter on it and I would like to continue this on the new website. Any ideas on how to transfer it?

yeah to start take the code off your old website because that is your counter if you signed up for it.

You can reset the counter to zero to start fresh and place the code for the counter on your new site.

IF you have the new website on your same account as you have the counter.

The counter does not need to be on the same account as the website. The counter does need to be on an account that you own otherwise:
1. You won't have access to the useful statistics
2. It could simply be switched off without your knowledge.
