Remember the series back in the '70s. Have ordered the dvd's from Amazon over a week ago, still waiting! Shall have to be patient for a bit longer. Hope it's as good as I recall, the new series was a bit of a letdown I thought.

I saw survivors as a child and was so happy to see all the episodes on net and came across this wonderful site, enjoyed watching the captures and reading the synopsis,my favorite is Denis lill and think he acted far much better than all the other casts,but also think seasons 1 & 2 had better stories than season 3.

Survivors 2008 and (1974-77) , both series are available from BbcAmericashop and Amazon.com on the NTSC (USA &Canada)format.
I am disappointed that BBC does not want to do a third series. Still many questions left unanswered.

Love the site, love the 1970's series of survivors, and randomly my uncle has Greg's MG from series 1, its in his barn covered in dust.

I enjoyed the idea of a group of people, all from different backgrounds coming together and working hard to produce a viable living community that would survive and indeed flourish.

All the episodes in series two.

Series three seemed to loose it's way. I know the creator of the series - Terry Nation had nothing to do with this last series as he fell out with the director. It was not a patch on the first two.

However, I have just sat and watched every episode from one end to the other, over the last few weeks and thoughely enjoyed the whole lot.

In the remake , Abby and Greg have guns put in their faces but they don't/won't carry any weapons . In "After Armageddon "(2010--History.com) ,same story--virus, folks die etc. Except it 's in Los Angeles and the folks are carrying guns.

Feb. 13th, 2010 ---Survivors (2008 remake) will be shown on BBCAmerica. The series will be on every Saturday night !!!!It has an interesting plot that was not explored in the first series. Now if they can just run the original (1974) series again!!

Kudos on the site, I watched the series when it was first aired and have often tried to describe to my sons how good it was (for it's time naturaly, modern day special effects and the likes while great still seem to be lacking something) same goes for Doc Who, Saphire and Steel, Adam Adament and all the other golden oldies I enjoyed. I wish the BBC would release the Survivors DVD's on region 1-NTSC(USA&Canada ) formats. I see from Rich Cross' website ,they will finally show the 2008 Survivors series on BBCAmerica.Looking forward to it. With SARS,Avaian-bird and Swine flu , Survivors is more real than ever.

I was disappointed to discover that the DVD boxed set of all three seriesdoes not contain the commentaries and documentaries from the individual sets. Can anyone suggest how I might get hold of transcriptions of the commentaries? Thankyou.

I have watched the re-make, well the first 6 episodes so far, and I think they have brought it up to date quite well, although I think I like the original cast better, they interact with one another better, and it seems more relaxed, because the re-make seems more harder. Anyways I do agree with one of the other posts, I would like to see a better ending or maybe they could continue series onto a 4th and bring back abby, and maybe not kill of Greg... ok thats about all but it is great.
