I studied with ABC Spanish Tuition for 2 weeks of classes to quickly learn some Spanish before I started traveling in South America. The classes were an excellent balance between grammar and conversation, and I feel that it has been a very effective and efficient course. The teacher is very good in figuring out what your level is, and when it\'s time to move on or practice some more, all with lots of patience.

The family homestay has been a very pleasant and warm experience. I enjoyed staying and eating with a real bolivian family, and it was a perfect way to practice my Spanish.

I came to Bolivia understanding some simple Spanish here and there, but not being able to speak Spanish at all. I needed to learn fast to do the fieldwork for my thesis. After 60 hours with William I am now doing interviews with farmers by myself!! He\'s a really good experienced teacher who identifies your flaws and drills you on them until you improve. If you are serious about learning Spanish, this is the place for you!! I guarantee you will see results!

I really enjoyed the Spanish lessons with my teacher.

I also did a Homestay with his family!, which was so nice. We watched movies in Spanish and conversed a lot to help improve what I was learning in class.

I planned a trip to Bolivia to develop and practice my Spanish speaking, writing and reading skills. I am a bilingual teacher in the United States and need to strengthen my Spanish to prepare for the upcoming school year. The five days that I took classes at \"ABC Spanish School\" were focused and all very much at a level that challenged me in every way. With one on one classes based on my schedule I got as much out of every minute as possible. I have many informative references to refer back to and enough exercises to complete to keep me busy the rest of the summer. I really enjoyed the concrete tie to grammar and a clear explanation for every question I had. If you are looking for a professional Spanish School this is a great option for you!

I am a 54 years old businessman, who realized that speaking Spanish is very important at this time. I came to this school without any knowledge about Spanish and after 6 weeks of study, having 4 hours per day, I am leaving now with an ability to communicate in common terms. The ¨custom made¨ program for my level was set very professionally and helped to develop my ability to speak Spanish very fast. My homestay with a Bolivian family helped to improve my communication as well. I took a week long course with William at the ABC Spanish Tuition School back in June 2010 during a 7 day stay in La Paz. First off, what an amazing city to be in when learning Spanish! The people are very friendly and accommodating, even when speaking my beginner level Spanish on the street. William was no exception to that level of hospitality in La Paz. I took classes for 5 days and requested a group class if possible. William came through and another traveler interested in group instruction joined me for the week. William did a wonderful job meeting both of our learning requests simultaneously while also guiding us paired practice conversations that were very helpful! While the responsibility is now with me to practice my Spanish, William did everything possible to arm me with the tools to make the remainder of my stay in Bolivia and Peru that much easier as the language barrier was less of an issue. I'd highly recommend at least a week William, if not longer. [And the rumors are true, he also speaks French, which helped me as a fluent French speaker to draw parallels between the two languages!]

If you're considering learning Spanish in La Paz, you should definitely consider learning Spanish with ABC Spanish Tuition and William Ortiz. William’s knowledge, and skill is only matched by his great patience with beginners. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced student one could not wish for a more friendly and positive learning environment.
My home stay in La Paz was also wonderful. The family I stayed with was very friendly, helpful, and generous with their home. Nearly every morning at breakfast my host would engage me with conversation in Spanish. This was great practice and it got my mind working for my sessions with William.

Learning Spanish in the context of La Paz is inspiring; La Paz is a beautiful highland city with a rich history. There are some great sights to see in La Paz and the people are fantastic, very friendly.

Again, I highly recommend ABC Spanish, great experience, great teacher, and great city!

William ha a very firm grasp of the fundamentals of the Spanish he teaches and this comes across in his teaching style and add context to what you learn.
I found the classes very helpful in improving and building on the Spanish I had already picked up.
The classes were professional and well delivered. If I had to make a complaint it would be that we did not have more time together as I had to leave La Paz!
Otherwise, I would highly recommend William, just make sure you have as much time with him as possible!

I had 4 hours of private lessons for 3 days (I wanted to brush up on my Spanish). It was great for me because I was able to have lessons in the morning and explore La Paz in the afternoon. The lessons were very thorough and helped me a lot with matters I didin´t understand very well. We would cover a lot in the lessons, so I am very glad I spent the time doing them. William is a fantastic teacher who speaks very good English and French I hear!

Thanks again William. I took 3 weeks classes for 5 hours and left with the ability to function in Bolivia. I became a resident dj at one of the bars in La Paz and was able to make permanant friends (and 2 girlfriends,) in this city. My professor in EEUU is happy with my progress, and I am ready to take this skills home with me to continue learning and teaching. I found William to be open to which ways work best and when I told him my focus was to understand and speak more of the sentences I need, rather than saying a few sentences perfectly, he listened. We progressed rapidly. William is both a good teacher and a fun person to be around and helped me with more than just my Spanish while I was here.

I learned a great deal from just one week of lessons. William is an excellent teacher, willing to customize classes to one's abilities. I appreciated both learning grammar and vocabulary and having a chance to practice while he corrected my mistakes. At the end of this week, I was able to have a long conversation with a friend of my family!
My homestay family was fantastic. They were extremely nice, hospitable and helped me to practice my speaking skills. I'm going to miss staying with them.
I would recommend studying at ABC Spanish Tuition to anyone.

Of my 4 teachers I had in South America, William was easily the best. The phrases I learnt with him gave me the confidence I needed in Spanish to losen my tongue and besides his strong knowledge of the grammar gave his teachings a flexibility that allowed us to study exactly what I needed to know. Also his fluency in English meant, I could ask any English saying and he would give the Spanish equivalent although we conducted all the class in Spanish. I studied at other schools in Bolivia but found the courses to be structured for longer term students, so everything was taught very slowly and I learnt very little. Unlike this school where you learn very fast in a short space of time.
I highly recommend ABC Spanish Tuition as one of the best schools in Bolivia.

My boyfriend and I took Spanish lessons with ABC Spanish Tuition knowing almost no Spanish. After a week of 25 hours we are still novices but can make sentences that will help us greatly during our travels through South America. Our confidence has also grown so we don't feel as worried when spoken to in Spanish. We still have a long way to go but with the basics William has taught us and the material he has given to us to keep, I am sure we can now make it around south America without looking silly every time someone speaks to us in Spanish.

I have been travelling in south amercia now for about 8 moths and started learning spanish in buenos aires de Argentina for 8 weeks when I arrived. I became a little discouraged with my slow progress after my tuition because I teachers in Beous Aries adopted a very passive, lazy and theoretical approach to teaching. In La Paz I found Williams teaching style the best that I have experienced so far. He adopts very practical and vigorous teaching techniques that allow one to learn much more effectively through association. The classes can be group or one on one and he tailors the classes to the students needs expremely effectively. I stayed for 1 week with a host family in La Paz and took four hours of Spanish lessons a day at ABC Spanish Tuition. The host family provided breakfast and made a big effort to help me practice my Spanish every day. They were also very helpful in showing me the city. The classes were challenging and informative and I have seen a great improvement in my Spanish.

I had already done quite a bit of spanish study in Australia and Latin America, and was looking for a spanish teacher who could iron out the small errors remaining in my speech, plus someone who could help me towards my goal of verbal fluency.
