Hives? Allergies?

My 7 year old gelding has come down with hives or some kind of skin condition. My vet took a scraping yesterday and I am waiting to here back from him. Do you know anything about Spirulina?

How did you locate this forum? I have been here before and keep it in my favorites list so I don't remember where I first got started from.

Re: Hives? Allergies?

Hi Lynn,

Yes, spirulina has been shown to be effective against many allergic responses. The recommended amount is 20 grams each day. Another consideration is to boost the immune system by adding antioxidants to the diet. This will help your horse combat the allergens that he is exposed to. PreOx is worth considering. I have had good results with this product.
