addvice

first,sorry for my speeling,im dislexic.

I have just sarted to lern to drive. I have had 3 lesons, but I feel my instructor is to pushy. I had to lern to do corners, on only my therd leson. And I am still not use to stoping and starting . Shoud I be doing corners so soon. Im finding it all to much to take in so soon. And my instructor made me drive on major roads on my second leson, wich realy scared me. Is this the normall way to lern? or is my instructor pushing me to hard. I have never been behind the weel of a car befor my first leson, so this is compleetly new to me. any addvice would be of grate help. thanks

Hi

I am Rob and I own Drivers Domain UK. With regard to your driving instructor he or she may 1) naturally be a hard instructor and wants to push you so you get confidence early. or 2) have you ever considered that your driving ability maybe far more advanced than you think - as I dont think any instructor would risk doing something the learner could not cope with - they may think you are good. And about reversing around a corner, that takes time anyway so stay cool on that!

May be you could ask for feedback on how you are doing and even say you think you are being pushed too hard - see what they say and get back to me!

Keep it up, soon you will get there!

Hope this helps

Rob

Re: addvice

Hi thanks Rob. I dont know how good I am, as I have not dun any driveing before. My D.I. just tells me when i go wrong, and never when I go wright. So I dont know what he thinks of my driving. Also I am very carfull. as I dont want to hit another car. so I go quite slow. may be my d.i. knows im careful. and thats why he took me on main roads.? I do praktis at home in my chare lol I will let you know how it gos. x

Re: addvice

Lij,
I'm certain that your driving instructor would not put you in any risk of injury or push your abilities beyond what you are capable of...
Remember, they're sat in the car next to you, and I'm sure they don't want to put themselves at risk.
In addition, your instructor will overload you with information, or so it will seem, as this is the stage where you are picking so much up.
Honestly, within 4-5 weeks, you'll be flying up and down bypasses and wonder what you were worrying about.
And, by the way, I'm a Grade 1 Police Trained Driver, and 8 years ago, I couldn't reverse round corners, you will be amazed how much you can pick up.

Re: addvice

Hi

I have been driving for four years now. When i was learning to drive i found it difficult to take in everything at the same time.
You are concentrating on what you are doing and your divo DI is barking instructions at you to do this and that.
Dont get in to much of a flap and after your lessons think about what you did, what your DI said and spend the time in between your lessons going over that in your mind.
When you have your next lesson you will feel more confident as you are mentally ready for it.
Good luck and dont ever feel disheartened.
I didnt pass first time, passed on my second.

I have driven about 150,000 miles since passing my test and loved every mile of them. Apart from driving to Devon last July, (it took ages!)
Good Luck and best wishes for your test.
